Engagement & Couples Photography in Sydney
Getting engaged changes things. There is suddenly a wedding to plan, a family to tell, and somewhere in the middle of it a moment worth marking properly. An engagement shoot is a relaxed session, usually an hour or two, where the two of you get photographs that feel like you: unhurried, natural, and somewhere in Sydney that means something.
For many couples it is also a quiet rehearsal. By the time the wedding arrives, you have already spent an afternoon in front of our cameras, and the nerves are gone. The couples who do an engagement session are almost always the most relaxed on their wedding day.
Our Approach
We keep direction light. Rather than posing you frame by frame, we give you something to do walk, talk, laugh at each other and photograph what actually happens between you. If you have never been photographed professionally before, that is completely normal, and it is our job to make it easy. Most people stop noticing the camera within the first twenty minutes.
Sessions can be anywhere in Sydney: the harbour at golden hour, a quiet beach on the Northern Beaches, the gardens, the streets of the Inner West, or somewhere personal to you where you met, where you got engaged, where you always end up on a Sunday.

Frequently Asked Questions
When should we do our engagement shoot?
Any time that suits you, though many couples book three to six months before the wedding so the photos are ready for invitations and their wedding website. Golden hour, the hour before sunset is the most flattering time of day.
We’re awkward in front of cameras. Will that be a problem?
No. Almost every couple says this, and almost every couple is surprised by their gallery. We direct gently, keep things moving, and photograph the in-between moments rather than stiff poses.
Where should we do the shoot?
Somewhere that feels like you. We will suggest locations based on the look you want harbour, beach, garden, urban and the time of day. Personal locations often make the best photos.
Can we include our engagement party or ceremony?
Yes. Engagement parties and cultural engagement ceremonies are covered as events, and we can combine a couples session with event coverage.
Is an engagement shoot included in wedding packages?
It can be added to any wedding package, and booking it with your wedding coverage is better value than booking separately.
